Responding to a growing demand, Master Plus Linguistics is now undertaking larger translation assignments for legal firms. Our most recent experience has been one-week arbitration-related translation and proofreading of 600 pages from Russian into English for a UK-based legal firm by a team of 18 linguists including three qualified solicitors. Translated content included agreements associated with share purchase, mortgage, investment, simple partnership, shareholding pledge as well as a memorandum of understanding, court orders, certificates for the registration of rights, building permits, cadastral passports, legislative acts and other documents related to a major construction business.
Natalie Osadciw-Louth, Senior Solicitor, DWF:
“We would like to thank you for being able to provide high-quality translation of a large amount of complicated legal and technical content in a limited timeframe.”
Another example of a large-scale project has been on-site five-week linguistic support in a claim by a high-profile Russian bank whereby a team of eight professional translators worked alongside seven solicitors in the offices of two legal firms in Central London over festive season to process fraud-related content. This work included reviewing 1,200 PDF documents, 11,000 pages of printed content and 120,000 Excel rows of confidential data as well as close cooperation with a forensic consultant and two legal firms responsible for identifying legally privileged data.
Alex de Jongh, Senior Associate, Dispute Resolution, Bates Wells Braithwaite:
“We found Katya to be flexible, reliable, responsive and efficient. She quickly grasped the relevant issues and was a pleasure to work with.”
Another extensive project has been proofreading of selected works of a Russian lawyer on state administration in Russia. A team of six native speakers of English processed this 366-page book in two weeks. The chapters of the book varied in nature and style ranging from memoirs to highly technical legal data some of which was dated and needed to be effectively interpreted into modern reality.
Anastasia Mazine, RCB Bank:
“Thank you for delivering this project on time. We are happy with the quality and will recommend your services to other clients.”
